Food tour
It is undeniable, discovering a new destination more authentically means discovering its flavors and tastes.
That’s the purpose of our Food tour: by walking along the historic streets of Pisa we’ll tell the story of monuments and curiosities, stopping in suggestive corners and choosing the best places to taste the typical delicacies of tradition.
We’ll start with a special coffee in where used to be the meeting place of “free thinkers”: students, anarchists, Mazzinians (freedom-fighters) and scientists.
Turning in a typical street where once medieval city walls was, we’ll be attracted by the oldest pastry shop in Pisa…because its “mignon” melt in your mouth. Continuing the tour we’ll discover the typical Pisan recipes right in the market square, between the cheerful shouting and the colorful stalls of fruit and vegetables. Here there is an all-Tuscan baker who will make us taste a little slice of the famous cake with “bischeri” and a taste of Pisan cow cheese.
Full of energy we continue in the direction of Piazza dei Cavalieri (Knights Square), where we’ll enjoy of the Scuola Normale di Pisa beautiful facade designed by Giorgio Vasari. In this square, rightly considered one of the most beautiful squares in Italy, even the Statue of Cosimo Ist or the collection of unpublished memoralia collected inside the church of Santo Stefano dei Cavalieri will reveal succulent secrets.
But what an appetite with all these tales! Let’s go and taste the best “cecina” in Pisa, in a place where they cook only that! What do you think? Will it be the best? I’m sure you will fall in love for it!
The time has come to pay homage to the great protagonist of Pisa, the Leaning Tower. From the last place I take you, the view will be unique, especially if accompanied by a glass of wine from the Monte Pisano vineyards. After all, it will be aperitif time!
