Here Italy “happens” in an unusual, almost non-Italian way …. we won’t find artistic masterpieces or Roman remains, we won’t find Michelangelo’s David or Pompeii..
The Cinque Terre is a world in its own, due to their isolated position they have lived their own history over the centuries disconnected from everything else.
Their charm is in that. And their value has to be preserved at all costs: in 1997was classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
But why? What makes this small coastline so precious, so unique, even though apparently it looks like the same as many others? Let’s go and find it out!
